Terms and Condition

1. General Terms

By using The Rover Spot for vehicle repairs, maintenance, and services, customers agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions. These terms govern all transactions between The Rover Spot and its clients.

2. Repair Services & Liability

The Rover Spot guarantees professional repair services using high-quality parts and industry-standard procedures.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate descriptions of any known issues before repairs begin.
The Rover Spot is not liable for pre-existing vehicle damage, aftermarket modifications, or unauthorized repairs affecting vehicle performance.

3. Estimates & Payment

All repair estimates are valid for 30 days and are subject to change based on diagnostics or additional required parts.
Full payment is required upon vehicle pickup.
Accepted payment methods include cash, credit cards, or approved financing options.

4. Vehicle Storage Policy

Vehicles must be picked up within 72 hours after repairs are completed.
After 72 hours, a storage fee of $150 per day will apply until the vehicle is retrieved.
If a vehicle remains unclaimed for 15 days, The Rover Spot reserves the right to take legal action, including filing a lien.

5. Parts & Warranty

All OEM and aftermarket parts are subject to manufacturer warranties.
Repairs performed by The Rover Spot include a 90-day limited warranty on labor, unless otherwise stated.
Warranty exclusions: neglect, misuse, overheating, unauthorized repairs, or failure to follow recommended maintenance procedures.

6. Limited Liability Disclaimer

The Rover Spot is not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings left in the vehicle.
The shop is not liable for loss or damage resulting from fire, theft, vandalism, or natural disasters while the vehicle is in storage.

7. Customer-Supplied & Used Parts Disclaimer

If a customer provides their own parts, The Rover Spot cannot guarantee their quality or compatibility.
Used or aftermarket parts may not carry the same warranty as new parts.
The Rover Spot is not responsible for failures related to customer-supplied or used parts.

8. Environmental & Safety Disclaimer

The shop complies with all environmental regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
Customers must follow all safety guidelines when entering the repair area.

9. Order Cancellations & Refund Policy

Cancellations: A 30% restocking fee applies to all canceled orders for parts or services.
Labor charges are non-refundable once repairs have begun.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes regarding services or payments must be addressed within 15 days of vehicle pickup.
Legal disputes shall be governed by the laws of California and handled in the appropriate jurisdiction.

Warranty Coverage

All remanufactured engines sold by The Rover Spot include a 1-year / 12,000-mile parts-only warranty, subject to the following terms:

Core Exchange Requirement

Customers must return a core engine within 2 months of receiving their remanufactured unit. The returned core must contain the same components as provided in the replacement engine. The Rover Spot will cover return shipping costs for the core exchange. Failing to return the core engine will void the warranty and the new one.

Installation Requirements

The engine must be installed by a certified professional repair facility, unless pre-authorized by The Rover Spot. Warranty coverage begins upon delivery to the repair facility. Customers must submit VIN, mileage, and repair order(s) via email after installation.

Oil & Maintenance Documentation

Initial Oil & Filter Change: Must be performed after the first 500 miles, with documentation from a recognized repair facility (excluding quick-service chains such as Jiffy Lube).
Subsequent Oil & Filter Changes: Required every 7,500 miles for the duration of the warranty, with documented proof of service.

Warranty is void if: The engine experiences overheating or proper oil change documentation and repair records are not provided.

Cylinder heads
Oil pan
Timing cover
Internal engine components

Non-Covered Components:

Gasket sets; Installation kits; Ancillary parts
Injectors; Hoses; Water pump; Thermostat; Alternator; Starter
AC compressor; Oxygen sensors; Wiring harnesses; Coils; Computers
Catalytic converters; Belts; Radiator

E85 (Ethanol) Disclaimer

The use of E85 fuel is strongly discouraged, as it attracts water, leading to rust formation and potential seal damage over time. Using E85 voids the warranty.

Cooling System & Fuel Injector Requirements

(Not applicable to Ingenium engines)

Water pump, thermostat, and plastic piping (including heater pipe) must be replaced during installation; failure to do so voids the warranty.
Fuel injectors must be replaced on gasoline-powered vehicles. A Fuel Injectors and Cooling Install Kit is available for purchase.

Non-Transferability

The warranty is not transferable and applies exclusively to the original purchaser.

Shipping & Valve Cover Disclaimer

Valve covers are installed for shipping purposes only and must be replaced before use. Any oil leaks or damage resulting from failure to replace valve covers are not covered under warranty.

Warranty Claim & Engine Failure Process

Repair Authorization

No warranty-related repairs may be conducted without prior written approval from The Rover Spot. Disassembling the engine without authorization voids the warranty. For non-replacement repairs, The Rover Spot will negotiate a labor rate with the repair shop. If no agreement is reached, The Rover Spot will identify a repair facility within a 100-mile radius.

Handling of Engine Failures

The vehicle must be towed to an approved repair facility at the customer’s expense.
The intake manifold/supercharger must be removed prior to inspection.
A third-party inspector will assess the cause of failure within three business days.
If heat tabs are intact and documentation is complete, a replacement engine will be supplied within three weeks.

Liability Exclusions

The Rover Spot is not responsible for labor costs, towing fees, rental vehicles, transportation expenses, or any incidental or consequential damages.

Order Cancellations & Restocking Fees

A 30% restocking fee applies to all canceled orders.

Attorney Fees to Prevailing Party

Should Customer or The Rover Spot bring an action to enforce these terms, the prevailing party shall be awarded its attorney fees and costs, as determined by the court or arbitrator.
